The Tadpole was developed specifically for situations where soils are highly abrasive, wear rates are extreme, and long point life is critical to productivity. Its compact, solid design allows it to absorb high wear without rapid loss of shape, making it particularly suitable for ironstone, gravelly, or mineral-rich soils where standard points wear prematurely.
While the Tadpole is a single-use point, it is engineered so that no usable steel is wasted. Once the Tadpole has worn down, the remaining section can be re-used inside the Leap Frog system. This allows the residual metal to continue working productively rather than being discarded. The result is maximum utilisation of every casting. This design reflects the Yeomans principle that all wear material should be used for digging, not thrown away prematurely.
A Bullfrog is required to hold the Tadpole. Read more on the Bullfrog and Leapfrog system here.
